What's Your Reason!?
Pregnancy is the new trend within this generation. Let's just face it, every time you refresh your news feed another one of your friends on social media is broadcasting about their pregnancy. Pregnancy is indeed a beautiful blessing, but what are the reasons behind women getting pregnant? In our society today, the pregnancy rate has increased dramatically.
The United States has one of the highest pregnancy rates. Statics say that 3 out of 10 teenage American girls will get pregnant at least once before they reach 21. This is about 750,000 teenage pregnancies each year. Furthermore, there are many reasons why so many women do get pregnant.
Let's take a look at some negatives first.
Some women feel insecure and want to have someone to love and someone to love them back. Some women that are sexually active could have been exposing to sex at an early age. Where they could have watched it on television or seen another woman's belly. It sounds funny, but this happens often. Furthermore, some women can feel pressured by friends or even their partner. A 15-year-old girl, who I went to summer camp with, had three abortions before she finally had her child, she was a foster child and she will always say her foster parents didn’t “Care about her”,so she would just sleep over her boyfriend’s house and miss school. Her boyfriend pressured her about having a baby for months. It wasn't until she got pregnant, that her boyfriend left her so she was left to raise the baby alone. Moreover, most women believe that a baby will make their boyfriend stay. According to Dosomethingorg, 8 out of 10 fathers don’t marry their child's mother. In my opinion, no woman should get pregnant, unless they're financially stable and in a committed relationship.
There's always a bright side to every story, despite the negatives. While some women don't even plan to get pregnant, many women become pregnant because they are at a happy place in their life. Those who make the decision to have a baby, are often in a great space with their spouse, and it's a mutual decision between the two. The couple understands that a baby means MONEY! So they plan ahead, by saving up and getting ready for their new bundle of joy. Once the decision is mutual, when the baby comes they should feel nothing but excitement!
So if you and your boyfriend/husband are thinking about having a baby, make sure it's all for the right reasons…… Of course!
