Moguls In Media Tour Recap
Last week, I had the honor to attend such a prominent media event “ The Moguls In Media Tour.” The event took place at WE WORK Bryant Park near Times Square in NY. The room was filled with nothing but inspiring individuals and a panelist of millennials who represented different parts of media such as T.V and Radio.
The Moguls In Media Tour, founded by Sheen Magazine Correspondent, Darcel Laurie, is a media platform where experienced millennials give their personal insight and advice to aspiring young adults in the media industry. The event featured a line of six talented individuals who represented different fields of media. Selena Hill, who is an Associate Digital Editor at Black Enterprise, celebrity hairstylist Tiffany Lamb, Essence Magazine Contributor Brittney Oliver, Author Gillian Max, Hustleprenur Jacques Bastien, and Luxury shoe designer Stella were all apart of the team.
The featured panelist sat down together and discussed their journey. While dropping jewels, and their personal words of wisdom on everything from the media industry, to depression, and staying focus. But, that wasn't all that this amazing event had to offer. NY’s hottest Dj, Dj Fabroc, had the crowd bumping to tunes all night. While, private chef, Chef Lex , was in the kitchen cooking up some delicious sesame chicken balls, along with Chicken and Waffles, and BBQ cheeseburger sliders. Along with the appetizers, were some tasty margaritas from two beauties of the Startender bar-tending school.
During the event, I had a chance to talk with many different media personalities, as well as the founder, Darcel Laurie, about her tour and her journey as an entrepreneur.
“I started Moguls In Media to help young people with media,” she said. “For one I created this for people to connect with one another, and to promote my mentor ship program.”
The Moguls In Media Tour is a spin off of Darcel’s Moguls In Media mentorship program.
“Well it's a program where I help young people who want to be involved in the media. Whether you want to be on radio and television I use my connections to help people get started on their career,” Laurie said.
The Moguls In Media Tour is set to appear in two more cities D.C and ATL. Visit www.mogulsinmedia.com to learn more about the tour and Darcel mentorship program.
