Clean Water For Flint!

Rise sneaker boutique in New York is using the Jordan 1 raffle to raise money for Flint. For some of you who may not know, Flint is a city located 70 miles north of Detroit, MI. Most of the residents that reside there live below poverty according to the US Census Bureau. The city is 56.6% African American and the average household income is about 24,862.

Flint was once the home of the nation's largest General Motors plant. In the 1980s GM downsized which caused an economic decline. This was the start of many issues to come to the city.

Long after, the city switched water sources in 2014. Since Lake Huron was under construction, the city looked to the Flint River as a water source during transition. The Flint River has and is very poor quality with many toxic substances in it. That means the residents of Flint are forced to drink water straight out of water bottles ONLY!

This has been a major issue since the beginning of 2007 to the present.

Rise boutique has decided to take part in helping out by doing a raffle for the Air Jordan Retro High in Royal. All donations will go directly to the long ongoing crisis in Flint, MI and benefit their Flint Child Health and Development Fund. April 1st marks the release of The coveted sneaker. This is definitely an amazing idea to raise awareness and money for this massive issue.

If you or anyone you know that may be interested in donating to Flint, visit www.helpforflint.org. You don't need to donate a ton, remember every bit counts. Having clean water shouldn't be a luxury or something you have to pray for. Let's all pray and help out as much as we can so that brushing your teeth with water out of your own sink becomes a necessity again to everyone living in Flint.
