Twitter has already gone crazy with responses to the news with the general consensus that they are excited. Favreau has directed the Disney hit The Jungle Book, as well as other successful movies, which is why many are trusting Favreau to handle the movie with care. For those of you that are a little skeptical, there is one thing you don’t have to worry about: the film will have music from the original film.

As someone who loves this film, I’m excited to see what Favreau and Disney will do and how it will all play out. The Lion King’s live action remake has a release date (as of now) for April 15, 2019. Mark your calendars and get ready!
