Dr. Dre whose real name is Andre Young has won six Grammy awards, three of them he won for engineering or producing. The Compton native came on to the music scene as a co-founding member of the controversial group N.W.A. which he ended up producing some of the group’s groundbreaking records on the 1988 debut, “Straight Outta Compton.” He even helped the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul Mary J. Blige get her first number one on the Billboard Hot 100 with producing “Family Affair.”

This is well deserved Dr. Dre….Congratulations.
