Will Adele Ever Perform Again?
Say it ain’t so! Yes, the singer announced in a note on her social media that the past tour for her album 25, has truly taken a toll on her and apparently her vocal chords as well. In a lengthy message to her fans on Twitter, Adele writes that she had to cancel her last two shows at Wembley Stadium, due to damage to her vocal chords. Adele wrote:
"I don't know how to start this. The last two nights at Wembley have been the biggest and best shows of my life. To come home to such a response after so long away doing something I never thought I could pull off but did has blown me away...I went to see my throat doctor this evening because my voice didn't open up at all today and it turns out I have damaged my vocal cords. And on medical advice I simply am unable to perform over the weekend. To say I'm heartbroken would be a complete understatement."
The Hello singer seemed quite distraught, having to cancel two of her biggest shows of her tour. But despite this, her fans still came out in droves to support her. Hundreds of fans still showed up to Wembley, despite the cancelation and performed songs together in support of the singer. Others posted videos online showing their support. Many posted videos under the hashtag #SingForAdele, captioning their videos, “You couldn’t sing for us, so we sang for you.” It’s great to see fans showing their love and support in such a trying time for Adele, and we hope she gets better soon!
