Rebellious Soul K. Michelle To Be Honored By Alma Mater FAMU

Kim Pate, aka K Michelle, will be honored with The Distinguished Alumni Award from her alma mater, Florida A&M University in Tallahassee. This is the highest award presented by FAMU’s National Alumni Association. Michelle will also receive a prize for her “notable and documentable contributions to FAMU” and for her success in her field. 

The songstress/reality superstar turned restaurant owner previously served as Freshman attendant, won Miss FAMU, and was initiated into FAMU’s Beta Alpha Chapter associated with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Michelle attended FAMU on a music scholarship. She is a trained pianist and also plays guitar. She graduated with honors and was accepted into several law schools, but decided to pass on law school to pursue music full time.

Michelle is also the first African American to have an endorsement deal with Jack Daniels.
