Smize: Tyra Is Back As Host For America's Next Top Model
I guess Tyra couldn’t stay away for too long! After stepping down this past season and letting singer, actress and model Rita Ora host the revamped America’s Next Top Model on VH1, Tyra announced that she would be coming back as host, next season. The announcement was made at a press release with VH1 on March 16th.
"Tyra has always been the heart and soul of the franchise and her absence was deeply felt by our fiercely loyal fans who missed their Queen of the Smize,” Stated Ken Mok, who’s served as the executive producer since the show first hit screens. This season had not only Rita Ora as a new host but an entirely new panel as well. Supermodel Ashley Graham, image architect Law Roach and creative director of Paper magazine, Drew Elliott. They replaced an entourage of celebrities, photographers, fashion icons and stars who have sat on the ANTM panel across the 23 seasons. During the release, Banks announced that panel judges would be released at a later date, so the status of the most recent panelist is not clear.
“I’m overwhelmed and humbled by the intensity of the ANTM fan base whose deep affection for the show led me to have a change of heart,” Banks said in the press release. Banks stated she couldn’t stay away because ANTM is basically part of who she is, it’s part of her DNA. Though everyone seems to be very excited for Tyra’s return, there’s one person who’s a little upset. Season 23 contestant Justine Biticon was a little bitter she didn’t get to experience Tyra as her host and took to Twitter to let everyone know how upset she was.
Anyways, we’re all excited Tyra is returning to her stomping grounds and can’t wait to see what season 24 of America’s Next Top Model holds!
