Tyra Banks To Host America's Got Talent

Ms. Tyra Banks is set to work the stage on this upcoming season of AGT!

The former host of America's Next Top Model has been crowned the new master of ceremonies on this upcoming 12th season of America's Got Talent.

In a recent press release, the 43-year-old supermodel mogul expressed her excitement as new host of the hit competition reality show, E-News reported.

“Since I was a little girl, I’ve been obsessed with grandiose acts and performers who make the seemingly impossible possible, Tyra explained. I love how AGT brings that feeling into everyone’s home, capturing the best of people who come out and give it their all to make those big, fierce and outrageous dreams come true. I look forward to connecting with the dreamers, having fun and giving hugs and words of encouragement when needed and maybe I’ll get one or two performers to smile for the audience."

Banks will replace former host Nick Cannon, who has served as an emcee on America's Got Talent since 2009. Cannon shocked the world last month when he announced that he will be resigning as host of AGT, after a dispute with the network over a joke he told during his comedy special.

The Wild-n-out executive host, doesn't seem to be upset about his new replacement as fans thought he would.

Cannon sent Banks a set of pink and purple flowers, shortly after her announcement as NBC’s new moderator.

“Made me smile,” said Tyra’s caption.

Tyra hosted Americas Next Top Model for 22 seasons straight on UPN and CW. She continues to executive produce ANTM, which is now being syndicated on VH1.

Season 12 of America's Got Talent is now filming in Los Angeles this month. Tyra banks will join judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, and Mel B.
