Will Drake Be Retiring From Rap After “More Life” Album?
It’s been rumored that Drake might retire from his rap career and get back to his first true love, acting. We first fell in love with Aubrey “Drake” Graham on the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation as basketball player Jimmy Brooks. Since leaving the show, Drake has managed to release 4 albums, a number of mix tapes, a few back-to-back diss records and even buffed up on us in the gym. So what’s got the One Dance singer ready to retire from a career that brought him so many accomplishments? He says, “timing”.
In a recent interview for the ‘Cal Cast’ podcast , hosted by the University of Kentucky basketball coach John Calicapri, Drake talks about his love for acting and Why he feels it may be time for him to get back.
“At the end of the day, it’s all about the time you’re willing to put in. And my biggest fear is always when I’m not doing it, there’s someone else that’s doing it. That’s my biggest fear in life” he said. “Acting is another thing that I just can’t wait to really dive into, I think after I release “More Life”, which is this playlist I’m working on, and finish this tour I think I’m going to really start to position myself in the acting world and hopefully, take some great roles.”
But that’s not the only interview where drake shares his passion to get back into acting, according to Huzlers.com. Drake also told a reporter “I want to act again I feel like I had a good run with music. I just want to act now. I want to star in movies, I’ve always loved acting, and I feel like I should do it,” he said. “ I would love to play a superhero in a movie, better yet I would love to appear back in Degrassi."
Drake leaving the music game will make us undeniably sad for sure, but we’re glad to see that he’s doing what makes him happy. I’m here for motion picture Drizzy!
