Lady Gaga Will Headline The 2017 NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show
For all the little monsters out there, you’re going to want to stay tuned for the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show because Motha Monster will be your entertainment. After rumors had been speculating about Gaga performing, she announced on Twitter Thursday night that the rumors are true and the Super Bowl is hers!
Earlier this year, the Grammy winner rocked the national anthem for the super bowl and left everyone in awe. Before that performance, she flattered about how excited she was to perform in front of millions of viewers and football fans in an interview with the NFL Network. I’m guessing this made producers consider her as a performer for the next halftime show, but we all know Gaga, she has to be the star. The 30-year-old has signed on for the 51st football championship event at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, on February 5, sources told Us Weekly.
“This is one of the highest honors of my career,” she revealed. “I get a chance to sing for all the athletes, who have been working so hard their whole lives for this moment, the coaches, as well as the fans in the stands who are waiting for this moment. I think it marks what being an American is all about.”
This will mark her first time headlining the Halftime Show. Gaga, born Stefani Germanotta, will apparently use this performance as an opportunity to debut her latest album, Joanne, due out October 21st.
