Unfortunately former cast mates Bia, Chloe Riley and my fav Nyemiah Supreme will not be returning to seasons 3. The reality series will focus on getting each one of the ladies on the right path to stardom while navigating their way through the male-dominated music industry.
MEET THE CAST:
Audra The Rapper
Let's start with Audra The Rapper who's path was quite different from the usual. Unlike other rappers who start out by listening to rap & hip hop Audra was forbidden to due to it’s often violent nature. In substitute of that her mother and grandmother which whom raised the young artist filled their household with Jazz, Soul and R&B. This would later lead her to take a more musical approach to rap. She began to study styles of Lauryn Hill, Tupac, Missy Elliott etc. At 16 years old Audra released her first single Sweet & Sour. Since then she has released 3 EPs and most recently “Retrospectrum”. She is set to hit us with her fifth project titled “Anti Love Songs” at the end of this summer. The goal for Audra is to remain outspoken and honest in her music.
Multi-faceted music artist and named one of the dopest female artist by many in the industry Lee Mazin expects to show and prove the many talents she possesses. She sings, raps, produces and writes for herself as well as other artists. She prides herself in being versatile which gives her the ability to excel not only in hip hop but in various other styles ranging from hip hop to pop. Lee Mazin has graced multiple tours and shows such as Power 99’s Peace on the Streets, SXSW, Meek Mills Dreams Come True Tour and her self funded tour The Blow Tour. In addition to that in 2012 Meek Mill has labeled her the First Lady of Dreamchasers. The rising star also gives back to the community through her annual “PhiLEE Weekend” here in her hometown of Philadelphia.
Former rapper of the duo Crime Mob Diamond has already accomplished so much at a young age. The group had hits like “Knuck if you buck” which landed on the billboard hot 100 charts in 2004 and “Rock yo hips” that gained lots of popularity. In November 2007 Diamond decided to pursue a solo career. When 2010 came around Diamond was apart of the remix of “My Chick Bad” that also features Trina and Eve. The female MC built relationships with the other female rappers that turned into friendships. Later that summer she released her debut single “Lotta Money “. She later released “Hit Dat” that features Waka Flocka. Diamond has been nominated both in 2011 and 2012 for Best Hip Hop Artist at the BET AWARDS. She soon will be releasing new tracks titled Trap Girl Rollie, Purple Phases & Gloss Up.
The beautiful and well rounded Brianna Perry has music running through her veins. With a long history of hip hop education, Brianna’s skills have been recognized by some of the games heavy hitters. The list includes Beyoncé, Trina and Missy Elliott to name a few. Not only has she received praise from music’s greatest, various press outlets such as Complex, XXL and The New York Times gave the young lady her props for her unorthodox style. The charismatic rapper wants to restore innocence to the female rap game while being refreshing, young and relatable to her fans. She's all about staying true to herself while being a bit edgy without compromising her femininity.
STRONG. That's just one word to describe Siya and another one of my personal favorites on the reality series. This amazing rap artist has overcame many challenges early on. With her mother being addicted to drugs and father incarcerated as well as her own run ins with the law, Siya has proven that it's not where you came from but all about where you're heading. Born in California raised in Bed-Stuy, Siya turned to music as an outlet while having the support of her grandmother who took her in. Moving to Atlanta later on where she eventually built a reputation while being connected to some of the industries best one of them being Tank who mentors the MC and also appears on the show quite a bit. Shortly after Siya moved to LA where she built more beneficial relationships that lead her to be casted by Flavor Unit Entertainment founded by Queen Latifah and Shakim Compere for a role starring some of Hollywoods top actors and actresses. Siya will be releasing Siya vs Siya later this year.
Season 3 is filled with some of hip hop legends which includes MC Lyte, Irv Gotti, YoYo, Jazze Pha and many more. Some of these who also play a role in mentoring the ladies as well. Some drama does occur along the way, but that's to be expected with five hungry and driven females pushing to make it. Overall this season and the previous seasons showcase the remarkable talent the women have. The ladies do also come together at hard times and have no problem convincing the world that a female mc can still be sexy and feminine while rapping about some obscene lyrics at times.
