Long Awaited Tupac Movie Unveils First Trailer
On the anniversary of Tupac’s birthday, June 16th; Benny Boom released a teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated movie, All Eyez on Me. Hip-Hop and music biopics are becoming more prevalent within our society but also the movie culture. We recently witnessed this with the critically acclaimed, Straight Outta Compton, and Notorious. The news of about a Tupac biopic being in the works came right the premiere of Straight Outta Compton.
Since then, fans and the community have been anxious about any trailer, teaser or footage in regards to the movie. It’s not even because this is another hip-hop biopic, but it’s a movie about hip-hop legend and influential figure, Tupac Amari Shakur. Of course, Tupac is a top five rapper of all time, in my opinion, but he has been one of the most influential music artist of all time. He is in that category of influence along with Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Notorious B.I.G., Beyonce; just to name a few.
Another reason people have been anticipating this movie because of his portrayal in the Notorious movie and his small appearance within the Straight Outta Compton movie. This movie will follow from the birth of Tupac Shakur to the night of that fatal drive-by in Las Vegas in 1996 that led to his death.
Demetrius Shipp Jr. was casted as the role to play Tupac. Other characters that are featured in the movie is Jada Pinkett Smith, Suge Knight, Puff Daddy, Dr. Dre and many more figures. The movie is scheduled to be released in Mid-November. The trailer can be found on Youtube:
