Nas Invests In Protein Bars Made Out Of Crickets

Hip-Hop icon Nas recently invested in a company that makes protein bars out of crickets! Yes, you read that right, CRICKETS. Last Monday, the company Exo announced that they have earned about $4 million, with the help of their investors. Amongst the list of investors was Nasir Jones.

As odd as this story may sound, it actually turns out that this is a profitable idea in today's health conscious society. United Nations reported that crickets are healthier than cows and provide more nutrition.

Business was already booming for the Exo company before Nas teamed up with them. Greg Sewitz, Exo Co-Founder, tells Bloomberg the sky is the limit:

“In the long term, we envision cricket powder being competitive with soy, and whey, and any other protein source … That starts with introducing cricket protein to a consumer base with no direct experience with it and a lot of preconceived ideas that were negative.”
— Greg Sewitz

So Nas can now add protein cricket bars to his list of accolades. Would you try the new protein bars? Leave a comment below.
