Michelle Obama Says Farewell To The White House

Monday night on CBS media proprietor Oprah Winfrey interviewed First Lady Michelle Obama for the last time in eight years. The two powerful women sat by the fireplace discussing Michelle's time in Washington DC at the White House. As bittersweet as this may seem, it's actually a relief to Michelle to finally be able to live a somewhat normal lifestyle now. In this sit down interview Michelle discussed the pros and cons of living in the White House and the ups and downs of being the First Lady. Oprah also asked how that lifestyle has affected her and president Obamas daughters, while addressing certain rumors. Michelle let us in on advice she had been given from First Ladies before her. She also let us in on how her and Melania Trump's meeting went.

This was a very relatable and real interview. Both ladies looked absolutely amazing. First Lady Michelle wore PREEN by Thornton Bregazzi from the Fall 2016 collection. It was a beautifully designed black gown with some floral embellishments and stripes. She topped it off with a sleek shoulder length bob with a middle part. Media queen, Oprah had her hair pulled back into a simple ponytail with a custom Brandon Maxwell emerald green dress accompanied by minimal pieces of jewelry. Both ladies had little makeup on.

There were lots of messages and quotes that I personally took from this interview. I had already been a fan of Michelle, but now I think I'm even more in love with this incredible woman. Mrs. Obama wants all of us to know and do is “Model what we want”. She says not to only say what you want and need but to to actually act upon it so it can create a domino effect and make an impact on our world. She states that she had a great time during her stay in the White House but she's ready for a change. Michelle said that her mission has been accomplished by bringing light to certain issues like childhood obesity, giving love and support to veterans and uplifting young women. Mrs. O  also wanted everyone know that she has a very good sense of who she is and that being The First Lady is not easy. The meeting that was held with herself and Melania Trump was great and she made sure to give the next First Lady advice that could help during her time in the White House.

First Lady Michelle talked about her two daughters Sasha 15 still in high school and Malia 18 soon to be freshman at Harvard University. She explained how she was able to keeper girls well rounded by simply being themselves with some exceptions and rules being as though they were always not the public eye. Although The Obamas are leaving the White House in less than two months, they will forever be known as one of the most influential, inspirational and let's not forget fly First family in history.
