Most Influential Women Of 2016
2016 was the year of the women. Some made music, some made noise in their industry, but all made a difference. Here’s my list of some of the top influential women of 2016.
Beyoncé shook the world up with her much needed Lemonade album and gave everyone all her black girl magic. She inspires women of all age and race to take a stand on injustice and to never be afraid of being who you are.
2. Michelle Obama
No one will ever top how bomb our first lady Michelle Obama was. She was everything, beautiful, classy, a little shady, smart and so real. She had such a huge influence on so many lives by pushing the power of education and health.
3. Issa Rae
Continuing on with more black girl magic we have Issa Rae, the writer, producer and star of the HBO original series “Insecure”. Needless to say, Issa Rae is lit AF!
First African American Muslim Judge to be sworn in with the Quran.
5. Cardi B
This regula smegula girl from the Bronx has come up this year. Cardi B not only secured her spot on reality TV as a star on VH1 Love and Hip Hop but she also landed a role on Bet’s scripted series Being Mary Jane. She’s a feminist (In my eyes) who gets her message across with catchy rap lyrics and bare face Instagram videos speaking realness. She inspires females to be who you are no matter the situation and to stay on your grind.
6. Shonda Rhimes
The only black women to own prime time television 3 shows in a row with Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder and Grey’s Anatomy.
7. Karen Civil
Queen Karen Civil is an inspiration to many, including myself. She’s an author, CEO and branding strategist. Her Brand #LiveCivil is used to bring women together to inspire and help them build their business.
8. Solange Knowles
Solange had a good year with her endless fashion statements and her album A Seat at the Table being nominated for a Grammy! Solange is inspiration to be as creative as you want and to never let others negativity towards you over power your capability
9. Chrissy Teign
Chrissy Teign is not just the mother to John Legends beautiful baby girl, Luna. She’s a bad mama jammer who’s not afraid to speak her mind against this year’s election and fight against social injustice. Chrissy Teign was very vocal when most celebs kept quiet.
