Beyonce Goes Country At The CMAs

The 50th annual Country Music Awards hit televisions across the nation on November 2nd and boy were we in for a treat. For those country music lovers, it was nothing new but still an exciting event. Stars from all over the country music spectrum were in attendance, including Country singer turner pop singer Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, and Garth Brooks. For lovers of that genre, it was a good night.

As many award shows go, there is always one big crossover performance to wrack in more views from those who don’t normally watch the CMA’s. This year’s crossover performance not only brought new viewers but perhaps a bit of Lemonade as well. If you missed it, Beyonce herself hit the stage with the Dixie Chicks to perform her country-inspired song “Daddy Lessons”. Longtime listeners of Beyonce, or even casual listeners will know that this isn’t usually Beyonce’s style of music, but then again, she loves to surprise us. Bey sang alongside the Dixie Chicks, with a complete band that had the crowd out of their seats and dancing along. She rocked a long-sleeve mermaid gown covered in lace, beads and crystals from Zuhair Murad’s 2017 collection whereas the Dixie Chicks rocked all black outfits, contrasting the bands all white.
