Single Mother Of Three Is Blessed By Wingstop

A black single mother has turned to a popular food-chain restaurant as a means of success for her three children. Tina D. Howell is the owner of a Wingstop franchise in Southern Florida.  Howell’s locations have been reported to generate $1.5 million yearly. 

For those who aren’t familiar with Wingstop, they specialize in delicious chicken wings. According to their official website, “Wingstop Inc. is the destination when you crave fresh never faked wings, hand-cut seasoned fries and any of our famous sides. For people who demand flavor in everything they do, there’s only Wingstop Inc. – because it’s more than a meal, it’s a flavor experience.” The corporation currently has over 100 locations in most states except Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire. Virginia, Rhode Island, Delaware, N. Dakota, Wyoming, Montana and Hawaii.

Prior to becoming the CEO of various locations, Howell started off her career as an educator. The former school teacher then expanded her knowledge and launched her own virtual health agency. Virtual Home Care Inc. is now reported to be one of the largest black owned home health agency in the city of Dallas, Texas and Florida. This phenomenal woman then purchased her first Wingstop franchise location in 2004, and has been successful ever since.

In an interview with Zachary Rinkins, award winning journalist and author, Howell described her motivation behinds her success at Wingstop specifically.  Howell stated, ““I was excited to create jobs and mentor the young men and women I hired. I pay them a little more than minimum wage so we have a higher rate of attrition”. She then shared tips on how to become a successful entrepreneur. This divorced, single mother of three has shown the world how there is no limit to the level of greatness of a black woman.
