Rae Sremmurd Tops Charts Thanks To Mannequin Challenge

Rae Sremmurd songs “Black Beatles” has recently made it to the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 list again. The hip-hop duo, best known for making tunes that ring ears and make you dance have produced a new record that has set a trend on social media. Back in 2014, the group’s song “No Flex Zone” was the first to appear on the top 100 list followed by “ No Type”. Two years later, Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee are back to claim their newest accomplishment in the hip-hop industry. The trending song “Black Beatles” ft. Gucci Mane is off the duo's recent album ScremmLife2.

This time the group had a little bit of help for making the top charts, from fans and participants of the new #mannequinchallenge.

This new challenge has literally becoming the Internet's new obsession. Videos have been posted all over social media where groups participants make short videos in a dramatic pose while the duo's song plays in the background. This new trend began only a couple of weeks ago by a group of high school students and has grabbed the attention of many worldwide.

Many celebrities including Kevin Hart, and Beyoncé have shared their recreation of the #mannequinchallenge on Instagram.  Rae Sremmurd has even created their own rendition of the challenge and performed it live at a recent show.

This challenge has been a major factor in the publicity “Black Beatles” has received and may be a major reason it has placed on the top 10-song list. The group has much thanking to do to the group of high school students from Edward H. White High School in Jacksonville, Florida who created the current trend #mannequinchallenge.
