Atlanta’s Krispy Kreme Gets A New Owner

The American donut franchise Krispy Kreme, has a new owner for an Atlanta location. Former basketball player and Hall of Famer, Shaquille O’Neal, has recently added franchise owner to his list of many accomplishments. Along with becoming an owner of the donut shop, he has also become a spokesman for the company as well. It’s no secret that Shaq loves his sweets, donuts much be his favorite!

This past Monday, Shaq shared the news via Twitter about his newest venture. 

Krispy Kreme has created a new promotion to celebrate their newest family member Shaq, called the “Shaq-or-Treat” for Halloween. This promotion is social media based and applicable to anyone who tags their social media posts with #ShaqOrTreat, between Oct. 28-31. Participants will be eligible to win Krispy Kreme or Shaq-autographed prizes.

In an interview with 11alive, Shaq described his feelings behind his recent business venture:

“Krispy Kreme prides itself on spreading joy and supporting local communities, and that’s a cause that I am thrilled to be a part of. Our goal is to help people find their happy place, and what better way than with a box of delicious Krispy Kreme doughnuts.”

He recently visited the Winston-Salem Krispy Kreme location and displayed his happiness for the new union.

Shaq is the owner of the downtown Atlanta store, which is located on Ponce de Leon Avenue. This specific location has already been opened for over 60 years, and their current staff should be really excited to meet their new owner. Atlanta just got a little hotter along with your favorite Krispy Kreme doughnut.
